Melvin Zerrusen, CPA
Melvin Zerrusen, CPA, the owner of the firm, was born and raised in central Illinois. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1986. He worked in both public accounting, as the manager of a national CPA firm and as a controller for a private business. Mel moved to Port Orange in 2007. He went back to college and earned his nursing degree from Daytona State College in 2014. Since 2014 he has been working as a Registered Nurse while continuing his own CPA practice. Mel decided to leave the nursing profession in 2020 and join Ledger Plus and devote his entire time back to public accounting which is where his true passion is. Mel purchased the firm upon Gwen's retirement in January 2021.
Terri Clarke

Terri is a long-time resident of Port Orange. She has extensive accounting experience dating back to 1986. Prior to working with Ledger Plus, Terri had the opportunity to work at small to medium businesses where she established subject matter expertise in day to day accounting and bookkeeping. Some of the areas she has served in include Manufacturing, Real Estate, Engineering, Medical, Marine and Aviation. Terri is an accountant with unique ability to find and solve complex problems. She offers our clients solutions to organizing and streamlining their accounting. Mrs. Clarke is married and has two children. She is the one of the founding members of two local 501(c)3 organizations for youths and she has proudly served on numerous civic boards throughout the area.
Jennifer Zerrusen

Jennifer Zerrusen is a part time Administrative Assistant and Junior Accountant. She was raised in a very small town in Massachusetts where she became the owner and manager of a commercial construction company. Jenn moved to Florida in 2012, and is currently the Owner of MJ Uniforms & More, Inc, splitting her time between Ledger Plus and the uniform store.
Emad Louka

Emad is a long-time resident of Port Orange. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Accounting in 2001. He started his 25+ years of experience internationally and has advanced his career to the area of taxation with a main emphasis on S-corporations and individual taxes. He has an extensive knowledge with small to mid-size businesses and is a valuable asset to our Ledger Plus team. Mr. Louka is married and has two children.
Nora Wood

Nora is our Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper. Nora is our locally educated employee graduating from New Smyrna High School and Daytona State College with an Associates Degree in Accounting. Nora has worked in the local area for many years and has a wealth of knowledge in the healthcare industry including payroll, collections and management. Ms. Wood has a very warm and welcoming personality which comes out when you walk through our front door or when she answers your phone call.
Gwen Slater, CPA
Gwen Slater is now retired but continues to consult and help support our staff. Gwen started Ledger Plus in 1996 and through her hard work and dedication, grew Ledger Plus into the firm it is today. We wish her a wonderful retirement.
